The Smoky Mountains were given their name because of the deep blue haze which can be seen from the mountains much of the time. The Cherokee Indians used to call the range "Shaconage" (pronounced Sha-KON-a-hey) which means the "place of the blue smoke". The appearance of blue smoke is actually created by water vapor rising from the thick forests which cover the mountains and valleys in the GSMNP.

My Dear Guests - for the ultimate in lodging pleasure, allow me to present Place of the Blue Smoke - a magnificent, new ultra luxury cabin cabin in Parkside Resort, Pigeon Forge's newest family resort property. This magnificent cabin will sleep up to 14 people, all of the bedrooms have king beds, plus a whirlpool in each master suite, and 2 sleeper sofas (one in the game room and one in the living room). You'll enjoy a full game room with pool table, air hockey table, poker table and an LCD flat screen television plus a new IPod Juke Box . On the main level deck is your firepit gazebo, with seating area, for roasting marshmallows or just sitting around the fire enjoying wonderful family time. The entry level of the cabin has your living room, with fireplace and 41" TV with digital cable, dining room with large dining table, plus additional seating at another table in the living room. There is one bedroom with whirlpool on this level. The upper level is pure magic - with a 15 seat movie theater with 110" screen right in your cabin !! Imagine the Super Bowl or NASCAR or the Rose Parade on a 10 foot wide theater screen !!! There are two king bedrooms on this level, each with attached baths, and whirlpools in each bathroom. The lower level is the game room plus two more bedrooms and whirlpool baths.

Place of the Blue Smoke includes as standard - wireless internet access, internet telephone for unlimited long distance calling, central heat and air, washer / dryer, full kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and all necessary cookware, flatware barbecue tools and dishware. There is a gas grille with side burner on the main level deck as well as a hot tub on this level as well. Flat screen TV's with DVD players in each bedroom.

Outdoors, you'll enjoy 2 levels of decks and an outdoor hot tub. Large stainless steel propane grille, lots of wooden rockers on the decks complete the scene. And, don't forget, wireless internet access and unlimited long distance telephone service are included in your rental.
